You do not activate anything: Clarya sees the patient is a minor and adds the pediatric step to the exam. With an adult that step does not exist, so the exam is not cluttered with fields that do not apply.
While the history is incomplete the step carries a visible flag — that is the difference between having a field for it and the history actually getting recorded.
Where it stops: Clarya covers assessment, the chart and follow-up. It is not a hospital record — no surgical notes, no medication prescribing. If your practice is assessment and follow-up it fits; if you operate and need to document surgery it will fall short, and we would rather say so up front.

Questions practices ask
Do I need to install anything?
No. Clarya runs in the cloud, so you open it in a browser from any computer at the front desk, the exam room or the lab. Updates and backups are included — there is no server to maintain in your office.
Can I control what each person sees?
Yes. Permissions are role-based, so an optometrist, a front-desk associate and an owner each see what their job requires. You can also grant or revoke specific permissions per person.
Can I bring over the patients I already have?
Yes. We help you migrate your existing patient list and product catalog during onboarding, including bulk import from spreadsheets, so you don't start empty.
